Alternative Investment Vehicles
The Securities Act 2007 provides for two types of market intermediaries namely Investment Dealer and Investment Adviser, which are catered under sections 29 and 30 respectively.
The FSC Mauritius implemented the Securities (Licensing) Rules 2007, which provide for the different categories of Investment Dealers and Investment Advisers and the criterias and requirements to licence Investment Dealers, Investment Advisers and their Representatives. As per the Securities (Licensing) Rules 2007, only a body corporate can act as an Investment Dealer whilst an Investment Adviser can be either an individual or a body corporate.

Protected Cell Company
A protected cell company (PCC) is a company incorporated for the purposes of carrying out a global business to segregate its assets into several different cells within that company, with a view to protect each cell from any extension of liabilities from one cell to other.
Limited Partnership
Limited partnerships in Mauritius are governed by the Limited Partnerships Act 2011 and also subject to the Securities Act 2005 when operating as a fund with a Global Business Licence. This type of structure is a combination of both a partnership and a private limited liability company allow its owners to operate as a partnership with a separate legal entity.
Global Headquarters Administration
This licence enables multinational companies to set up their regional administration, procurement and accounting offices within the Mauritius International Financial Centre. Moreover, it allows them to provide headquarter services such as administration and general management, business planning, development and coordination to its subsidiaries operating in other jurisdictions.
Global Treasury Activities
The Global Treasury Activities Licence will be issued to the treasury nerve centre of multinational corporations incorporated in Mauritius and providing treasury services to related entities, such as arrangement for credit facilities/derivatives, corporate finance advisory and credit administration and control.
